Join us as a volunteer on our permaculture farm in Germany, where enthusiastic and hardworking volunteers are always appreciated. Situated in the beautiful Heilbronn and Weinsberger Tal region, our project offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in permaculture practices and edible forest gardening. Whether you’re keen to learn about fruit tree care or explore innovative farming methods, there’s always something meaningful to get involved in here.
Permaculture Farm in Germany: Tasks & Roles
Your contributions could take many forms, including:
- Supporting vegetable cultivation—sowing, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and preserving
- Helping to maintain orchards, vineyards, fields, grasslands, and forests
- Assisting with creative farm projects, such as building small shelters for animals
- Engaging in composting, Terra Preta production, creative workshops, or mushroom farming
- Applying personal skills to areas like social media, website development, painting, or land art
We avoid using heavy machinery, opting instead for hand tools that promote healthy soil and biodiversity. You’ll help us maintain a natural ecosystem by caring for flowering fields that attract beneficial insects and by growing nitrogen-fixing clover.
Permaculture Farm in Germany: Living & Getting There
Volunteers are accommodated in a cosy apartment with three beds and a bathroom, while the communal kitchen and washing machine are available in the shared community area. If you prefer, you can stay in a caravan overlooking the orchard.
Each day, we enjoy a communal lunch buffet at 1 PM, featuring fresh produce from our gardens. The farm is located in Eberstadt-Klingenhof, just 15 minutes from Heilbronn, with a convenient bus stop at our entrance.
To reach us:
- From Heilbronn main station, take the S4 train to Weinsberg station.
- Catch bus 633 to the Klingenhof stop, walk 20 metres up the street, turn right, and walk uphill another 20 metres to find us on the left.
Permaculture Farm in Germany: What Else
Life on the farm is lively and engaging, with farm cats and falcons keeping the area pest-free and frequent visits from friends and helpers who bring new ideas and energy. Beyond work, volunteers can relax in the nearby vineyards or explore the scenic surroundings.
In exchange for five hours of daily assistance, we provide full room and board. The rest of the day is yours to recharge, learn, or create something inspiring. For more information, don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re excited to meet like-minded people and build a vibrant community together!
