Each participant is provided with their own bed, bedding, pillows, and blankets.

The accommodation includes shared living areas, a kitchen, dining room, bathroom facilities, and a comfortable space to relax or spend time with the host family. Electricity is available for charging devices, while clean water and basic laundry support are also provided. Wi-Fi may be available, although internet access can occasionally be limited in some areas.

Meals are included and offer volunteers the opportunity to enjoy local Malawian cuisine and learn more about traditional cooking practices. Volunteers with dietary requirements are encouraged to discuss these before arrival so suitable arrangements can be considered.

CAYE is located in Mzuzu City, while the nearest international airport is Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe. Volunteers can travel from the airport to Mzuzu by road, with the journey typically taking four to five hours by bus or private vehicle.

The organisation helps coordinate transport arrangements before arrival and can organise airport pick-up in advance. Volunteers travelling independently by bus may also be collected from the Mzuzu bus station and accompanied to the homestay, ensuring a smooth and welcoming arrival experience.
