His connection with Madarao began when he spent a winter season there as a snowboard instructor, inspiring him to return and create a warm, welcoming home for travellers from around the world.
Named Sweet Spot because of Madarao’s exceptional location, the lodge provides an ideal base for exploring several nearby ski resorts, all within a 30-minute drive. It is also easily accessible from Tokyo, with the world-famous Shinkansen (bullet train) reaching the area in just over an hour.

The closest international airports are Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Tokyo Haneda (HND). From central Tokyo, the resort can be reached by Shinkansen in just over an hour, followed by a short 10-minute journey from the nearest station.
