Help Us Create a Small Eco-Stay in Goa, India

Location: India, Goa, North Goa, Penha de França

Hello my name is Deeksha, I am an Architect and have been in the field for over thirty years. I grew tired of building concrete structures for corporate companies and felt I needed to put up something that is more eco-friendly and something that's more suited to my personality so I started this project. We are attempting to create an Eco home stay/ Health Cafe/Art gallery and a Workshop space. My idea is to integrate a more natural harmonious form of living into the space and provide a service to the less wealthy travellers who are looking to meet interesting people and learn a variety of things including organic farming, yoga, sustainable building, water conservation, pottery etc.

Prepare our boat for a trip to the Caribbean

Location: Spain, Región de Murcia, Murcia, Cartagena

Our boat is a 72ft sailing yacht based in Spain. She is a traditional steel ketch and is being restored by us. We need help and are looking for your help to do this. About the boat: The boat was designed and built in 1972. Only 2 were made. The present owners are doing everything they can to ensure that the soul of the boat remains as they sensitively bring the boat up-to-date. She is in the City so there is plenty to do in easy reach. There are decent berths in the boat in 4 Cabins. Couples or singles fine. Cheers, Mike

Help us in our small library in Tamil Nadu, India

Location: India, Tamil Nadu, Thoothukudi

This Bookfeeding Project was started by Beatrice in 2011 after she volunteered for AID India, a Tamil Nadu-based NGO which mission is to empower socially disadvantaged people through socio-economic development programs and education. They accomplish this by providing micro credit and training in the areas of health, human rights and utilization of resources for income generation. The Project was born of the belief that a great deal of unused books, old electronic devices (PCs) and unworn clothes would be of better use helping improve the two orphanages currently managed by AID India, and hosting more than 80 kids from age 4 to 18. So far the Bookfeeding Project in Tamil Nadu has managed to collect more than 500 books sent by private donors and schools from many countries around the world.

Help us in our small library in Koguta, Kenya

Location: Kenya, Homa Bay County

Our first library in Kenya was finished in April 2015. Ndori is a tiny village situated in the Koguta area near the famous lakeVictoria, in Kenya. The closest town is Sondu which is about 7km away. The closest library is about 100km away and, as most of the people in this area are farmers with only basic education, it is difficult for locals to get access to a better education and a better life. Our library is here to change that! The building for our library was donated by the brilliant Madam Tina. Our volunteer Alena flew to Kenya in April 2015 and, with money she had collected prior to her departure, she and all the amazing hard-working people in the Koguta area reconstructed, painted and decorated our first PUBLIC LIBRARY in Kenya. The library is now open to everyone, and unexpecte... Read more
