Watchara organic Farm

  • Marker details
  • DescriptionI was born in Mae Sot City. When I was about 14 years old, I decided to be a Buddish monk. About 12 years, I stopped and became a tour guide for about 10 years in Chiang Mai. After that, I had a new idea to open an organic farm in the country side of the city of Chiang Mai. Now I live here together with my wife and my daughter. There are many volunteers who come and help me build up my farm and make it a beautiful place. volunteers can learn about techniques organic farm, learning about techniques chanting for the Buddha, practicing meditation and activities in the farm .volunteers I also provide trekking in the jungle and Herb Sauna for every volunteer when they stay at my farm. The quiet and peaceful location is approximately 60 km from Chiang Mai with transportation to and from the airport and around the area available for a small fee. Trekking opportunities and a waterfall with a cave are close with guided trips arranged as desired. The Karen and Lisu people have villages nearby to visit that are not your typical tourist traps. Volunteers may use the location as a jumping off point for other activities or spend the time quietly at the farm experiencing the peace of simple Thai life. The menu is vegetarian, with non vegetarian options available locally. There is a focus on local fresh produce, some of which is grow on the farm. The facilities are simple but clean, with a shared toilet and washing facilities with small bamboo roofed houses for sleeping. There is no electricity, allowing volunteers to remain in touch with nature and truly experience the most natural and simple Thai life. If you are interesting in the organic farm, please come and share the experience at Watcharafarm. Please take the yellow minibus at Waroros Market in Chiang Mai town, which departs at around 11:15 AM. You may contact Mr. Watchara: mobile +66 818818879.
