HOW IT WORKS Come and share your talents with us and let us inspire you. Plukrijp is a special place where conscious people give a warm heart to each other and offer support to nature that gives it back in the form of an incredible abundance. We care for each other and care together for the place. Everyone is co-responsible. Our motto: 'even if it's not your fault, it's your responsibility'. The garden is central and is a wonderful example of "no-nonsense" permaculture where different methods are applied and explained. The daily contact with the pure energy of nature helps to live more consciously. One realizes that everything is connected to each other and that every action has an effect. Plukrijp is a place to learn to live and work together in joy and deep connection. All aspects of permaculture are discussed. This holistic approach promotes personal growth and fills our hearts with gratitude. At Plukrijp you learn through practice. The theory is passed on the fields or around the table. Documentaries are often offered in the evening to develop a broader view of the world around us and in us so that you can more easily start your life-design. Our daily schedule is that we work together from 9 to 12 and from 15 to 17. The meals are prepared together and most of the time there is an evening activity. The social aspect of permaculture becomes a daily practice.
    Community Description

Plukrijp, a life changing experience Plukrijp is an open permaculture garden where people can come and harvest for a free donation. We offer also apprenticeship positions for volunteers in our permaculture garden over 45 years old.

WHO WE ARE We are Frank & Martine. Frank acquired our farmland in 1972 and was one of the pioneers of organic farming in Belgium. Frank is passionate about soil life and has always made intuitive regenerative agriculture, later on called permaculture by Bill Morisson. So Frank has an experience of more than 45 years. With his formation as economic historian and his wide range of interests (philosophy, quantum physics, politics, sociology, anthropology, ...) he offers together a complete contemporary formation in permaculture adapted to our climate. He is often called "a human encyclopedia".

Martine joined in 1988 and together we developed a business in fresh organic products while raising our six children. Martine is the administrative and structural force of the place. She is the "mother of the place", allowing everyone to feel welcome with love. She likes to create beauty around her. Initially, she studied medical secretary but her knowledge comes from her long experience as a management assistant in various companies active in the organic world or with a social purpose.

In 2007, we decided to stop the commercial side and devoted ourselves to the transmission of our knowledge on permaculture in all its aspects. Our project Plukrijp was born. The aim of the association is to be a learning center in permaculture for young people and adults. We want also to promote the public interest by increasing the ecological awareness of the society. Our understanding of permaculture evolves continuously. So we offer a dynamic and contemporary no-nonsense approach where quantum physics and modern sciences are included.
