Northern Warmblood Stud

  • Marker details
  • DescriptionWe provide a perfect opportunity for riders who have established riding ability to indulge their love and passion for horses by riding several quality warmblood horses per day. As a rule we have about four or five horses being worked daily so there is plenty of work for those who are riders or enjoy working with horses and it provides a great opportunity to improve riding skills.

We have been training and breeding competition horses for over forty years and information about us is available on the web. For those that wish to review that information, Google search for our property name which is Northern Warmblood Stud, or Northern Warmbloods.
  • LocationAustralia, Victoria, Campaspe Shire, Kyabram

  • Work
  • Type of work The work is not hard, but needs to be done to a standard so that the stables are clean and tidy. Some instruction will be given at the outset on horse management and training techniques for riders, but it is important to note that we don't provide on-going riding instruction for short stay visitors. In other words, we don't provide riding holidays, ours is a working stable and stud farm.
  • Hours per day A working day is between five and six hours depending on what we are doing.
  • Work requirements: We have two groups that help us: those that ride or who have horse experience who work with the horses and those without who help with the stables, feeding, some farm work.

If you are serious about wanting to join us then feel free to contact us and we will be happy to have you, and have hardly ever refused a request. If you receive an offer of a place that you would prefer to take-up and have contacted us with a request, then please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the place to another helper.

The property is approximately two and a half hours from Melbourne, a bus/train serves the local area from Melbourne. We have the full range of farm related duties that helpers can be involved in as well.
