Homestead with Bed and Breakfast

  • Marker details
  • DescriptionWe run a bed and breakfast on 130 acre farm. We have a large garden and a flock of free range chickens. We also sell pies, quiche, pickles and jams at local farmers markets. The house was built in 1840 so there are always lots of projects going on. We are looking for a couple to help with cooking, gardening, cleaning and caring for guests in exchange for room and board aproximately 20 hours of work per person. You will have a private bedroom in the house with shared bathrooms. This position starts in April and goes at least until mid-October. The ideal couple enjoys sharing evening meals where we chat about the day, laugh and share life experiences.

  • Has pets? I have a cat and a flock of free range chickens.
  • Smokes at home? No
  • Accommodation: You will probably have a full sized bed in a private bedroom in the house with two shared bathrooms. Some rooms have a twin or a queen. If we get too busy there are also spaces in the barn with real full or twin beds. The spaces in the barn are more rustic. Think one step above camping.
  • Additional info
  • Although I prefer long term help there is also room for people who would like to stay for a short term to complete small projects such as replacing window panes in the barn, creating and posting signs helping guests find their way to the waterfall, or picking fiddleheads.
